So we opened up the walls to create an open concept great room. The size of the kitchen remained almost the exact same. But by opening it up to the dining room and family room the space felt much bigger. The homeowner's only had to sacrifice one wall cabinet to get this great new look that could fit within their budget. We installed wood-look tile so that the homeowner could have the warm appearance of wood, but the durability and water-resistance of tile.
